Introduction

Cappagh Browne is proud to announce a double award-winning performance at the UK Society for Trenchless Technology (UKSTT) Awards 2026, securing victories in both the Small Scheme and Rehabilitation - Small Project categories.

The awards recognise the very best in trenchless technology, celebrating projects that demonstrate innovation, technical excellence, sustainability and collaborative delivery.

UKSTT Small Scheme Award Winner: Bow Lake

The Bow Lake Project was named winner of the UKSTT Small Scheme Award, recognising the innovative approach and close collaboration between Cappagh Browne, PSS Utilities (Adler and Allan) and Tracto-Technik UK Ltd.

The project showcased how innovative trenchless techniques, careful planning and strong collaboration can overcome complex engineering and operational challenges while minimising disruption to customers, local communities and the environment.

The award recognises the expertise, commitment and teamwork of all organisations involved in delivering a successful outcome for Southern Water, demonstrating the value of collaborative problem-solving and modern trenchless solutions.

UKSTT Small Project Award Winner: Thanet Way

Cappagh Browne also celebrated success in the UKSTT Rehabilitation Small Project category through the award-winning Thanet Way Sewer Investigation and Rehabilitation Project, delivered by our specialist partner FM Conway.

The scheme successfully surveyed and rehabilitated 883 metres of 300mm diameter vitrified clay sewer, overcoming a challenge that multiple previous contractors had been unable to access.

Using FM Conway’s integrated “One Team, One Solution” delivery model, the project combined specialist trenchless technologies to investigate and rehabilitate the pipeline while minimising excavation, customer disruption and environmental impact.

The project achieved an impressive 87.8% reduction in carbon emissions compared with traditional open-cut replacement, while delivering significant improvements in long-term asset resilience and maintainability. The work was completed with zero reportable incidents and received excellent feedback from both the client and asset owner.

The award highlights the power of innovation and partnership in delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions that overcome complex challenges while providing long-term value.

A Landmark Achievement

In addition to these two award wins, Cappagh Browne was also recognised as a finalist in the Rehabilitation – Large Project category alongside Vortex Companies for the Eastern Road Rising Main Rehabilitation Project, delivered on behalf of Southern Water.

To have three projects recognised by UKSTT, including two category winners, is an outstanding achievement and reflects the expertise, dedication and collaborative approach demonstrated across our business and supply chain.

Driving Innovation Through Partnership

These awards reinforce Cappagh Browne’s commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable and customer-focused infrastructure solutions across the water sector.

We would like to thank Southern Water, FM Conway, PSS Utilities (Adler and Allan), Tracto-Technik UK Ltd, Vortex Companies, and our wider supply chain partners for their contribution to these award-winning projects.

Together, these achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished through engineering excellence, innovation and strong collaboration, helping to deliver resilient infrastructure while reducing environmental impact and disruption for the communities we serve.
